Paddy draws on over 30 years of private equity and M&A experience in technology to demystify complex business models and unlock hidden value for ambitious growth companies.
Paddy specialises in advising founders, boards, and financial sponsors on deals across SaaS, digital services, and deeptech. He has direct operational experience, having acquired, scaled, and successfully exited a compliance software business, and has also been on the board of a high-growth intelligent automation SaaS company. Outside of Silverpeak, he advises the board of 3 companies: an insurtech SaaS platform; a health sector digital transformation consultancy; and a hydrogen-enabled microgrid manufacturer.
Prior to Silverpeak, Paddy founded Cobalt Corporate Finance in 1996, building it into a well-regarded technology M&A advisory firm before its merger with Silverpeak in 2016. This followed seven years at 3i Group, one of Europe’s leading private equity firms, following early operational roles at the electronics group STC plc.
Paddy holds a BSc (Hons) in Management Sciences from the University of Manchester (UMIST). He is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists and a founding member of Globalscope, the international M&A network.
He loves the outdoors, especially playing on boats and off-piste skiing amongst other activities.
