Silver Lining Solutions sale to Genesys
Silverpeak acted as exclusive financial adviser to Silver Lining Solutions Ltd on its sale to Genesys, the global leader in omnichannel customer experience and contact centre solutions. Silver Lining Solutions is a provider of employee performance optimisation software. This Silverpeak-advised transaction brings together two complementary businesses in the enterprise software and customer experience market.
Silver Lining Solutions
Silver Lining Solutions builds software that improves employee engagement and performance. Its tools help organisations serve customers better. They also increase sales and operational effectiveness while reducing costs. The company was founded in 2001 and is based in the UK. It has offices in Asia Pacific and the United States. Furthermore, it has received industry recognition for its award-winning product.
Strategic rationale
The acquisition of Silver Lining Solutions expands Genesys‘ capabilities in employee engagement. It also strengthens its offer around workforce productivity, sales performance, and customer satisfaction. As a result, Genesys is better placed to serve enterprise clients globally.
How Silverpeak added value
Silverpeak led the transaction as exclusive adviser to management and three institutional shareholders. The team initiated the process with global strategic acquirers, then negotiated through to completion. One added complexity stood out: three of the parties were either partners or OEMs of Silver Lining Solutions. Silverpeak managed this carefully to protect the business throughout. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
What our clients said
Ed Wass, CIO at Catapult Ventures, said: “Silverpeak helped us get over the line. This deal had some challenges — some I had seen before, some I had not. It needed great determination and patience in sorting out the detail.”
Stephen Edwards, Chairman of Silver Lining Solutions, said: “Our first responsibility was to get the best possible return for our investors. We achieved that. We also had a duty to find a suitable outcome for our people, our product, and our customers. We achieved that too.”
Paddy MccGwire, Managing Partner at Silverpeak, added: “This is another enterprise software sale involving strategic buyers from Israel, Europe, and the US. Genesys in San Francisco was the right home for the business. Managing a competitive process where several parties were also partners or OEMs required careful handling. We are pleased with the outcome for Silver Lining Solutions and its shareholders.”
