Silverpeak advises Scality on $60m funding round

About the transaction

Silverpeak acted as exclusive financial adviser to Scality on a $60m funding round. This brings Scality’s total funding to $152m. The round includes all existing investors, Scality staff, and a new investor — Harbert European Growth Capital. The funding supports Scality’s technology strategy as it makes multi-cloud a reality for its customers.

About Scality

Scality builds software for distributed file and object storage and multi-cloud data control. Gartner and IDC both recognise it as a leader in its field. Its tools make data easy to protect, search, and manage across any cloud. Customers gain the freedom and control they need to compete in a data-driven economy.

How Silverpeak added value

Silverpeak worked with Scality as lead adviser throughout the process. The team helped Scality sharpen its story for investors — covering both strategic positioning and financial growth. A broad range of international investors were contacted to support the company and the launch of its multi-public cloud product, Zenko. The process targeted both growth investors and large venture funds willing to back the new product. As a result, the assembled syndicate reflects the company’s strong performance and its growing role in multi-cloud data management.

What our clients said

Jerome Lecat, CEO of Scality, said: “Silverpeak proved invaluable in reaching investors across all regions. They helped refine the Scality story and package it in a way investors could easily understand. Working with Silverpeak was seamless, particularly on a cross-Atlantic transaction like ours.”

Jean-Michel Deligny, Managing Director at Silverpeak, added: “Scality is unique. It is the only independent software vendor in data management to reach the top quadrant in Gartner’s research. The challenge was gaining investor recognition while Scality was launching its industry-first multi-public cloud SaaS product. The syndicate supports the company’s continued growth across Europe, the US, and Japan.”
