MedTech M&A and International Expansion: Silverpeak Seminar
About the MedTech M&A seminar
Silverpeak and global law firm Taylor Wessing co-hosted a MedTech M&A and international expansion seminar in London in March 2017. The event covered European MedTech M&A trends. It also addressed strategies for expanding into China. Furthermore, it explored key legal considerations for MedTech businesses. Attendees also heard a real-life perspective from an experienced MedTech leader.
The seminar was aimed at CEOs, Chairmen, CFOs, and Non-executive directors. It was also relevant to shareholders and VC and PE investors with a stake in MedTech companies.
What the seminar covered
The programme explored three core themes. All three are relevant to MedTech businesses considering M&A or international growth.
First, Caspar Stauffenberg and Paddy MccGwire of Silverpeak presented European MedTech M&A trends. They covered deal volumes, valuation dynamics, and the drivers of sector consolidation. In addition, the session explored what buyers look for in MedTech targets. It also addressed how companies can position themselves for a strong outcome.
Second, Chris Cotton of the China Britain Business Council addressed expanding into China. The session covered market entry strategies and regulatory requirements. It also outlined the commercial landscape for European MedTech companies in the region.
Third, Michael-Florian Ranft and Robert Fenner of Taylor Wessing covered the legal considerations facing MedTech companies. Topics included regulatory compliance and intellectual property protection. Moreover, they addressed cross-border transaction structuring for both European and Chinese markets.
Finally, Alexander Neumann of LivaNova shared real-life stories from leading a global MedTech business. His session offered practical insight into the challenges and opportunities of the sector.
